Mark Friedman

Mark Friedman serves as Board Chair for SupplyBank.org. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Eden Health District, which operates Eden Hospital, a community hospital serving residents of Castro Valley, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward, and other communities.

Mark has 20 years of experience directing nonprofit children’s, arts, and advocacy organizations. He previously served as CEO of the Thomas J. Long Foundation, where he led a major grants program, which provided critical support to East Bay community organizations working in health care, education, senior, disability, and safety net services. He also served as the CEO of First 5 Alameda County for more than 15 years

Mark is the co-founder of Community Bank of the Bay, the first community development bank in California. He was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the California State Advisory Council on Early Learning and Care, which he chaired for three years. He served two terms as President of the California Children and Families Association and as Co-Chair of Raising California Together. Mark currently serves on the boards of the East Bay Community Foundation, Oakland Promise, Funding the Next Generation, Ensuring Opportunity, and the Budget Justice Coalition.

He was recently appointed as an Alameda Health System Trustee by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. He previously spent more than 11 years as an elected member of the El Cerrito City Council, including three terms as Mayor. He lives in El Cerrito, California with his wife, a journalist.

Melissa Schoonmaker

Melissa Schoonmaker serves as Board Vice Chair for SupplyBank.org. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and serves as Project Director for the Child Welfare and Attendance Unit at the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).

Melissa has over 25 years of child welfare and attendance (CWA) experience with K-12 school districts. She has extensive knowledge of pupil services, program management, community partnerships, and community outreach efforts. Her expansive professional experience has enabled her to support and collaborate with numerous district personnel, community organizations, and other stakeholders to make a positive impact on Los Angeles County’s students and their families’ educational experience.

Melissa previously served as the LACOE Homeless Liaison, working closely with the 80 school districts across Los Angeles County and more than 320 public charter schools, to meet the educational needs of more than 70,000 youth identified as experiencing homelessness.

Melissa previously worked at the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) for 16 years–as a Pupil Services and Attendance (PSA) Counselor, School Attendance Review Board Chair, and as a PSA Coordinator overseeing the Homeless Education, Pregnant Minors, Permits and Student Transfers, Foreign Student Admissions, and School Court Liaison Programs.

Mary Ann Fake

Mary Ann Fake serves as Board Treasurer for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project.

Mary Ann has worked for a variety of organizations, from asset management and investment firms to nonprofits. She is committed to integrity in financial reporting and has a particular interest in creating incentives to encourage sustainable business behavior through transparency and disclosure

Mary Ann has held senior finance, accounting, and audit positions at Barclays Global Investors, Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of the West, and Bank of America, as well as the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, and has served on the Board of New Resource Bank in San Francisco. She was most recently the US Finance Director for Funding Circle, a small business peer-to-peer lending network.

She is currently a Board Member for Clean Water Action, a Washington D.C. based organization which works to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking, and people power to the table.

Mary Ann holds an inactive CPA license, with experience in public accounting at Arthur Andersen & Co. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado with a degree in Accounting, and is an active member of the American Institute of CPA’s.

Alison Jenkin

Alison Jenkin serves as Oakport Oversight Committee Secretary and as Board Secretary for SupplyBank.org. She is the IT Senior Compliance Manager at Bayer, a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of health care and agriculture.

Alison is a business leader with extensive experience shaping and implementing strategic policy agendas designed to foster dialogue among diverse stakeholder groups, including government officials, think tanks, and NGOs on priority issues that advance an organization’s goals and align with its mission. She has expertise in designing and executing comprehensive local, state, and federal government relations and public affairs strategies that integrate multi-faceted policy agendas and unique community initiatives that deliver value across ecosystems. She has also served as a spokesperson, and as an external representative for trade and business associations.

Alison is committed to serving customers (internal and external), building trust, and nurturing relationships she has built throughout her career.

Sean Carr

Sean Carr is a founding Board Member of SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. He also co-founded SupplyBank.org. He is the Vice President of Platform Engineering at LiveRamp, the data collaboration platform of choice for the world’s most innovative companies.

Sean began his career at LiveRamp (formerly known as Rapleaf), as one of the first members of the engineering team, and he has been a technical and organizational leader at the company for nearly two decades.

Sean graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science. He lives in Lafayette, California with his wife and three young children.

Global Lead of Inclusive Communities and Community Investments, Cisco

Curshanda Cusseaux Woods

Curshanda Cusseaux Woods (pronounced Cu-so) serves as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. She is the Global Lead of Inclusive Communities and Communities Investments at Cisco, a worldwide technology leader powering an inclusive future for all. In this role, she oversees the Inclusive Community team and 31 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which collectively represent nearly 30,000 Cisco employees worldwide. Additionally, she manages Cisco’s nonprofit sponsorship program, driving partnerships that align with the company’s commitment to social impact and inclusion. Curshanda previously served as a Global Community Impact Manager at Cisco, where she managed a diverse portfolio of community investments.

Curshanda previously spent 16 years as a Regional Community Relations Manager at Kaiser Permanente, where she managed more than 150 nonprofit sponsorships annually, including high-profile partnerships and events. She also led Kaiser’s regional volunteering and workplace giving programs for the region’s 75,000 employees. Her exceptional work was recognized by the National Public Relations Society of America, which honored her MLK Day of Service social media challenge.

Curshanda resides in Oakland, California, with her husband, and she is the proud mother of two adult children.

Steve Larson

Steve Larson serves as a member of the Oakport Oversight Committee and on the Board of SupplyBank.org. He is a Principal at California Strategies, LLC, a full-service public affairs consulting firm.

Steve brings an insider’s knowledge of California’s fiscal and budgetary processes, having served for 17 years as Chief Consultant to the California State Senate Budget Committee, and later as Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of Finance. Steve helped develop many of the current renewable energy and energy efficiency policies for the State of California while serving as Executive Director of the California Energy Commission during the state energy crises of 2000-2001. He also previously served as Executive Director for the California Public Utilities Commission.

Steve’s private sector experience includes serving as President of Woodside Natural Gas of California, a subsidiary of Woodside Energy of Australia, a $40 billion energy firm that is one of the world’s largest producers of Liquefied Natural Gas.

A Silicon Valley native, Steve now lives in San Francisco with his wife and two sons.

Ted Lempert

Ted Lempert serves as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. He is the President of Children Now, an Oakland-based, national research and policy nonprofit focused on transforming children’s advocacy.

Ted has overseen Children Now’s work which has achieved countless wins for kids, including historic school equity reform, health coverage for all California kids, universal preschool for four-year-olds, expanded access to childcare, and supports for foster youth. He is also a Lecturer in the Political Science Department at the University of California at Berkeley.

Ted co-founded EdVoice, a California education reform organization, and previously served as CEO. He served as an elected California State Assemblymember for four terms, representing Silicon Valley. He served as Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee and had more than 75 bills signed by three Governors. Ted also served on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and San Mateo County Board of Education. Prior to holding public office, he was special counsel and an associate for the law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter, and Hampton.

Ted received the “Florette Angel Memorial Child Advocacy Award” from the Partnership for America’s Children, and the “Al Rodda Lifetime Service Award” from the California School Boards Association. He was named “Legislator of the Year” by numerous education groups.

Ted graduated from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and earned his law degree from Stanford University.

Jarryd McKie

Jarryd McKie serves as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. He is the Head of Capital Markets at Thrive Financial, Inc., a loan servicing company that connects banks who want to find great customers with customers who are looking for payment options for their home. He leads the company’s capital strategy and manages relationships with institutional investors.

With over 15 years of experience in capital markets and structured finance, Jarryd has focused on developing innovative financing solutions, raising capital, and building long-term investor partnerships. He has built and scaled financing programs to support sustainable growth, including solutions that provide affordable credit to households and small businesses.Jarryd holds a CPA license, which he obtained while working at KPMG, a leading global professional services network.

He grew up in Toronto, Canada before moving to the Bay Area.

L.K. Monroe

L.K. Monroe serves as Chair of the Oakport Oversight Committee and as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org. She is the Principal and Founder of Teamed Up for Good – A Social Purpose Corporation. Teamed Up for Good provides strategies and resources to help communities flourish through deep investment in their children.

L.K. has an unwavering focus on equity and justice. She is committed to systems change through addressing the all too common conditions and persistently poor outcomes that exist in so many communities of color in poverty across our country. LK began her career as a Legislative Intern for the late Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm. She then managed and led several education related nonprofits and governmental agencies, and later became a teacher and principal in the Oakland Unified School District.

L.K. served for two terms as the elected Alameda County Superintendent of Schools. She also served as president of the California County Superintendents organization — a post she held throughout the pandemic. During her tenure, she worked in partnership with local, State, and national entities to position the Alameda County Office of Education as a leader and model of social justice in action.

L.K. holds a degree from the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California, a teaching credential from Holy Names University, and her administrative credential from the national New Leaders educational leadership program. She resides in Oakland, California and has two adult children.

Jennifer Scanlon

Jennifer Scanlon serves on the Oakport Oversight Committee and as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org. She is the Managing Director for Community and Government Relations for Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California Region. Through strategic community involvements and corporate and government relations programs, Jennifer and her team provide the Northern California Region’s physicians and employees with effective opportunities for civic engagement designed to improve the health of the local communities they serve.

Jennifer has led oversight strategies for government relations, volunteer programs, employee giving, sponsorships and events, and a member-focused pediatric literacy program. Prior to her 28 year career with Kaiser Permanente, Jennifer worked as a public affairs consultant, in government relations, and as a staff member in the California State Legislature.

Jennifer holds BA Degrees in Public Relations and Political Science from California State University, Chico.

Richard G. Stephenson

Richard Stephenson serves on the Oakport Oversight Committee and as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org. He is the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Thrive Financial, Inc., a loan servicing company that connects banks who want to find great customers with customers who are looking for payment options for their home.

Dick is passionate about providing quality educational opportunities to everyone, from early childhood through adulthood.

Previously, Dick was the Chief Compliance Officer of Funding Circle. A Bay Area native, Dick is a product of the California public school system. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College and earned his J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law.

Dean Vogel

Dean Vogel serves as a Board Member for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. He is the former President of the California Teachers Association (CTA), where he served as a passionate consensus-builder and fought to improve the working conditions of educators and the learning conditions of students across the state.

Before leading CTA, Dean was an educator and award-winning counselor for 39 years–teaching all elementary grades, including kindergarten, and training counselors and student teachers.

He is currently retired and serves on boards for organizations like this one.

Executive Director & Founder

Benito Delgado-Olson

Benito Delgado-Olson serves as an Ex Officio Board Member for SupplyBank.org and the Oakport project. He is the founder and Executive Director of SupplyBank.org, the largest charitable program of its kind in California, which distributes vital essential goods to under-resourced communities throughout the state. Benito oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations, serves as SupplyBank.org’s chief public information officer, and works with the board and stakeholders to shape the organization’s strategic goals and programs.

Benito founded SupplyBank.org–then known as K to College–in 2009, during his senior year as a UC Berkeley student. In the years since its founding, Benito has built an organization with more than 700 nonprofit and government partners, raised several tens of millions of dollars, and overseen an $80 million COVID response program to distribute PPE, light medical devices, and diapers throughout the state.

In 2019, under Benito’s leadership, SupplyBank.org founded the SBO Development Corporation LLC (AKA “Oakport”) to facilitate the building of SupplyBank.org’s new headquarters–a more than $200 million,100-acre nonprofit community campus on the Oakland shoreline that will also house the agency’s new distribution facility, a five-story, 160,000 square foot mass timber nonprofit center, and dozens of acres of revitalized parklands. Benito also serves as the Governor’s appointee and Chair of the California Public Utilities Commission’s Low-Income Oversight Board, which advises on a broad portfolio of multi-billion dollar subsidized public service programs that assist more than 10 million Californians. He is also a founding Board Member of the Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation (a partnership with the California Department of Education).

Benito has received the UC Berkeley Mark Bingham Award for Excellence in Achievement by a Young Alumnus Award, the New Leaders Council 40 Under 40 Award, and dozens of commendations and resolutions on behalf of SupplyBank.org.

Benito holds a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. He lives in Oakland, California with his wife, Amanda and their bull-mastiff pup, Kovu.
