For students: K to College
Studies show that children with school supplies of their own can improve grades, creativity, attitudes towards learning, confidence, peer relationships, and self-image.
- The lack of adequate school clothing and basic supplies is among the top challenges homeless students face in attending school.
Since 2009 SupplyBank.org has distributed more than $35,000,000 in grade-appropriate school supplies to 300,000 high needs students across California through partnerships with more than 450 county offices of education, school districts, First 5 Agencies, and domestic violence shelters.
Recognizing that good hygiene impacts learning, SupplyBank.org also distributes personal hygiene supplies and dental kits to the students we serve. According to the Journal of Pediatrics, children with poor oral health miss thousands of hours of school due to painful teeth and gums, suffer from malnutrition due to their inability to eat nutritious foods, and suffer from low self-esteem because of their socially unacceptable smiles.
SupplyBank.org has expanded K to College to include Early Learning Kits to several county First 5 Programs throughout the state.
