Essential Supplies for Communities in Crisis
The Disaster Relief Fund is administered by SupplyBank.org, to provide an opportunity for the public and organizations to donate to a central location to support children and families’ unique needs during times of crisis.
Convened by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, the collaboration between the California Department of Education and SupplyBank.org has provided resources to children and families impacted by natural disasters, threats of unprecedented food insecurity, the formula crisis, and COVID. This fund serves as a resource to help families, through partnerships with local schools and other public assistance organizations and programs.

What We Aim to Achieve:
Rapid Response: The Fund empowers SupplyBank.org to respond swiftly and efficiently to emergencies. From natural disasters to the elevated basic needs resulting from reduced public services during a time of crisis, our collaborative efforts ensure essential resources reach the most vulnerable people when they need them most.
Equitable Distribution: This partnership fund enables us to focus on equitable distribution of relief supplies and resources, catering to the unique needs of schools, students, educators, and families. By addressing disparities in access to critical resources, we’re building a more just and resilient future.
Sustainable Readiness: The Fund is positioned to support the needs of communities throughout our state through partnerships with hundreds of organizations and public agencies.
